Archives for the month of: April, 2012
Just a few bags I wish to call my own. All are large enough to carry my essentials, plus a few added items. My favorite bags are usually cross-body, but I’ve come to love satchels and totes too.

With the last month of school here, dreaming of these bags has provided me with a quick (and free) stint of retail therapy. Until I own one of these, I will gaze at them on the screen of my laptop.

Thinking of all the cute rain boots out there is the only thing that got me through this dreary day. A leopard umbrella would certainly brighten my day. When all else fails, I spend time catching up on TV( Drop Dead Diva’s on instant watch), and do some online window shopping.

I want to break away from my usual bold nail colors and use more pastel shades for spring.

Want all of these- so classic and timeless. For now, they are still my dream shoes.

I’ve had a week filled with great food, shopping, and friends, and that, is what I call a successful vacation.

I spent Tuesday walking around the city with a few of my friends. We went to Max Brenner and were mesmerized by all the chocolate ( self-proclaimed chocoholic right here).

{Yummy waffle fries from Max Brenner}

I had a delicious margherita panini that came with these amazing waffle fries. Also pictured above is my  swiss whipped cream chocolate, and a hazelnut frappe. Needless to say I was in a food coma after this.

Of course, there was shopping. We browsed through the large Forever 21 that is near by and I managed to find this striped dress (royal/yellow color) for only $12.50! It’s always a good shopping day when each friend leaves with a little something.

{ Cute menus with Alice references}

I went back to the city the next day, this time with my mom and sister. We went to Alice’s Tea Cup on West 73rd, and I loved it. The scones were amazing. I had a pumpkin scone and a banana blackberry scone (amazing combo) with chocolate chai tea (pictured above). I will some up the experience saying I thought everything was delicious. They even had Alice themed teapots. My sister ended up with Alice salt and pepper shakers.

This week is going by way too fast. I’m not ready to go back to studying, but only about 1 1/2 months until summer vacation!

Runway Look On A Budget

I turned this Alice + Olivia runway look into a more affordable outfit for those of us on a budget!

I love taking something basic and casual, like these jeans, and changing my accessories to make them work for all occasions.

Making Jeans Work for a Night Out

For the accessories, I focused more on bracelets. The arm party trend is still going strong, and I couldn’t be happier. I used to wear more necklaces, but lately I find myself piling on more bracelets. The edginess of the studs is a nice juxtaposition to the feminine blouse.

I can’t believe the week is already half over! The days always go by so much faster when I’m on vacation. Although I wish I was sitting by the beach, this vacation has proved to be just as relaxing.

For when the sun is out, and I plan on spending a lot of time outside.

Style For Less: Rachel Bilson

I love Rachel Bilson’s style. It’s always casual and chic at the same time, which is great inspiration for a college student. I replicated her look using pieces that were all under $50. A cute floral dress, a denim jacket (making a comeback), cute ankle boots, big sunglasses and a large bag. Throw on a cute necklace and you’re good to go! This outfit works for almost any occasion: going to class, running errands, out to lunch with the girls, and even date night. The floral dress I used is from ASOS and is the perfect transitioning piece to take you from cold spring mornings to summer-like afternoons.
