Pattern Mixing, Monochromatic, and Florals
Pattern Mixing, Monochromatic, and Florals by treerochelle featuring gucci

Derek Lam sleeveless blouse / Topshop / Gucci / Charlotte Olympia pointy toe shoes / Rebecca Minkoff striped tote bag / J.Crew j crew bracelet / Gorjana

The title says it all. Pattern mixing with florals and stripes, both of which are becoming neutrals in my eye. The blouse is stunning in its simplicity and rich color. An extra pop of color comes from the minty shoes, which not only add color but provide some monochromatic inspiration to this look. I have been obsessed with white blazers lately and I definitely need to find one for Spring/Summer. I would wear this outfit every day If I could and pretend it’s acceptable.

Printed Pants and Pastel Colors

The weather is finally cooperating! Any day the sun is out is a good day in my book. Warm and sunny days inspire me to wear softer colors, stepping aware from dark and bold colors. Pastels are perfect for Spring and Summer because although they are softer colors, they are still colors. I am becoming a huge fan of printed pants, maybe a tad late to the game, but I am ready to add more printed pants to my wardrobe. Warmer season are meant for exploration and playful styles. Mixing prints, bright colors, patterns, short dresses, long dresses, the possibilities seem endless. Maybe it’s just because everyone is in a better mood when the sun is out. I’ll take that any day over gloomy weather. I am going to savor every little amount of Vitamin D I can accumulate because it’s not often sunny where I am.

Going Bold

Going Bold by treerochelle featuring l k bennett

Clu / H&M shirt, $6.13 / Alice + Olivia pleated maxi skirt, $655 / Dolce Vita espadrille wedge / Platform high heel pumps / Maison Boinet real leather belt / L.K.Bennett l k bennett, $125

Maxi anything is still really popular and I’m trying to find new bold ways to style them for the spring and summer. I am on the hunt for a striped maxi dress, a challenge for those of us that are vertically challenged (5 ft 1). Regardless, this is a fun and playful take on the maxi and bonus there’s two ways to style it! Both colorful, both fun. This summer is all about playing with color and taking risks. If you can’t take risks in your life, at least you can take them in your outfit.

Coachella Inspired

Everyone is discussing musical festivals like Coachella, so I thought I would add my own little festival outfit post to the vast array of inspirations. I actually did not create this outfit thinking about any sort of music festival. Browsing through Polyvore, where all my outfits are created, I saw this chambray dress and fell in love. Normally I gravitate towards more classy and polished looks when wearing chambray but, playing around with fringe and booties is way more fun and who doesn’t love a little boho? Most people get very into Coachella, but sometimes it can get a little too crazy and resemble a decade party with crop top and fringe overload. Here there’s an homage to the boho style with a fringe bag and booties, but everything looks put together at the same time. Every outfit needs a bauble and I love this baby pink one. Simple. Warm weather ready. Slightly boho. Chic. Classy. Throw out as many adjectives as you want, I want this outfit. It’s finally Friday and I hope everyone enjoys their weekend

Feeling Playful
Feeling Playful by treerochelle featuring swarovski crystal jewelry

Flare dress / Rebecca Taylor / Charlotte Olympia shoes / Tory Burch / DANNIJO swarovski crystal jewelry / BCBGMAXAZRIA

I started playing around with outfits as I was blasting upbeat party music and this is the result. A combination of feminine pieces, quirky pieces and a splash of 90s grunge. This outfit feels completely random yet it still works. This dress is beautiful but also simple. It’s a solid color, but a bold one which creates a statement on its own. It’s sleeveless, but flared giving it a very feminine shape. Now the yellow belt. It’s a bold combination but is perfect for this fun flirty oufit. I love this DANNIJO cuff. It has large jewels and adds some funk to the flirty dress. Add some quirky cat loafers from Charlotte Olympia and you now have a flirty, fun, feminine and quirky outfit. The last part to this outfit: 90s style denim vest. Part grunge, part elementary school, the denim vest has been back for quite some time. Cue flashbacks to 90s. This outfit is quite a mouthful!

Can't Get Enough Stripes
Can’t Get Enough Stripes by treerochelle featuring lacoste

Sea, New York navy tank, $410 / J Brand skinny fit jeans / Madewell / Orla Kiely handbag, $545 / Lacoste / Filigree earrings

This is my motto in life: You can never have enough stripes. Someone needs to give me a stripe intervention because most of my closet happens to be full of striped pieces. It’s a great pattern. Versatile, and thanks to it being a trend, it’s basically a neutral. Shoes are now coming in stripes, as seen here, with these sandals that would go perfectly with this navy tank top with a slight peplum. Peplum, stripes on stripes, so many trends going on here. In this outfit I find myself in the Hamptons again drinking iced coffee and going shopping while the weather is in the high 60s. Throw on some gold jewelry and you’re set to be one classy lady. Normally when I make these outfits it’s pure fantasy because it’s cold and gloomy where I am but… the sun is shining and it’s in the 60s! Victory for everyone I say. If I had any of these pieces in my wardrobe I would be rocking this outfit right now. I hope the weather by you is just as beautiful. Enjoy the sunshine!
