Thanksgiving Style: Cozy

Thanksgiving Style: Cozy by treerochelle featuring black pants

We all know the thanksgiving drill. Eat as much as you can and feel no guilt. At. All. I will be working on thanksgiving which is my excuse for eating a little extra dessert. I will be a little more dressed up at my thanksgiving feast since I’m coming home straight from work, but a big meal doesn’t have to mean a big fancy outfit. I love the idea of wearing my coziest but clothes to dinner, of course adding a statement necklace and cute boots. I’ll be posting more thanksgiving inspired posts up until the big turkey day!

Shoe Candy

Shoe Candy by treerochelle featuring leather boots

Never enough Fall boots in my opinion. Black leather boots will always be my favorite but I love the idea of a burgundy/wine bootie that plays off of Fall’s most popular color. My Fall clothing palette centers around black, burgundy, olive and leopard so why shouldn’t my shoes too? The bootie is still perfect for this coldish weather, but maybe invest in some knit tights to go along with it.

Fall Accessories

The cold weather has arrived whether you are a fan or not. I happen to love the cold weather and the cozy sweaters and boots that come with it. This means it’s time to stock up on knit scarves and hats. Lately I’ve been loving the slouchy beanie look and am searching for some to add to my fall wardrobe. It’s an easy way to make your look seem effortless and chic. When wearing lots of layers it’s more challenging to show off your jewels so a colorful bow can be a great way to accessorize while layering. Styling tip: put your hair in a top knot and place the bow right in front of the bun. Printed scarves are also my best friends because I love waring neutrals but sometimes I just want a pop of color. Last, but not least, knit tights. These are my saviors in the fall because I still want to wear dresses and skirts without freezing. My fall theme is basically easy pieces that still look fabulous.

1 Blouse 2 Ways

1 Blouse 2 Ways by treerochelle featuring denim jeans

I’m probably not alone in becoming obsessed with an item of clothing and wanting to wear it every way possible. The best clothes are the versatile ones. For this fact alone I’m grateful color blocking and pattern mixing are still in style since it doubles our opportunity to wear our clothes. I love seeing one item styled for both casual and evening looks which is what I give to you today. The blouse is my favorite transitional piece. Whether transition to you means summer to fall, winter to spring, day to night, etc. the blouse has a place in each of them. For day, you can throw it over jeans with a tall boot, a cute bag, simple jewelry and done. chic. comfortable. For night, show off your stealth pattern mixing abilities with a printed blazer, but keep the rest of the outfit more subdued ( and by that I mean leather, stilettos and powder blue clutches). We could talk about blouses for days so I will leave you with the image of Jimmy Choo heels we all wish we owned.

Cozy Neutrals

Black jeans and cozy tops are definitely a fall staple. Boots are by far my favorite type of shoe, but most of my fall/winter shoes are black. Adding a nice sand colored tall boot would provide a nice change. It’s also no secret that statement necklaces are here to stay and I love the tribal inspired necklace that’s almost matchy-matchy. Throw in a coatigan (my new favorite word) and a bright colored bag and you can take the world by storm in no more than 5 minutes.
