Classy in Houndstooth

Classy in Houndstooth by treerochelle featuring a three quarter sleeve shift dress

The continuation of me styling a dress for Fall. Instead of traditional all black ensembles, I opted for these beautiful burgundy boots and a grey coat ( in love with every item). I need to remind myself color is out there and I can wear a colorful bag or coat. I love dark colors but there is a certain confidence that comes from a bright bold outfit. Nothing lifts my mood like a cobalt blue dress (in my imagination). While I will continue my dark wardrobe, I will also keep in mind the beautiful colors out there to add some brightness to the winter (cheesy I know).

Thanksgiving Inspiration: Autumnal Colors

Thanksgiving Inspiration: Autumnal Colors by treerochelle featuring brown high heel boots

While not complete outfits I give to you some visual stimuli for your Thanksgiving day/evening/night! Not everyone jumps on the color theme wagon, but if you love yourself some autumnal colors, I suggest incorporating orange, brown and burgundy into your outfit. Whether you wear just one, or find a way to mix all 3, your outfit will surely scream Fall! Thanksgiving! I love colors that resemble leaves! Speaking of leaves, I hear so much about the Bath and Body Works leaves candle I feel obligated to check it out. I chose a lot of accessories because they are my favorite way to wear trends or holiday colors.

Thanksgiving Style: Cozy

Thanksgiving Style: Cozy by treerochelle featuring black pants

We all know the thanksgiving drill. Eat as much as you can and feel no guilt. At. All. I will be working on thanksgiving which is my excuse for eating a little extra dessert. I will be a little more dressed up at my thanksgiving feast since I’m coming home straight from work, but a big meal doesn’t have to mean a big fancy outfit. I love the idea of wearing my coziest but clothes to dinner, of course adding a statement necklace and cute boots. I’ll be posting more thanksgiving inspired posts up until the big turkey day!

Burgundy, Black & Tan, Leopard

I still love burgundy/oxblood/maroon whatever you call it for Fall and Winter. It is one of my favorite colors and I think it is flattering on most skin tones, hair colors, ages etc. Burgundy and black makes for an instantly edgy look, especially these black ankle booties, and then I paired it with a classic black and tan, also instantly chic. I should really call this insta-chic because adding any one of these to an outfit will make you instantly chic. What are your thoughts on black nail polish? I have been having a serious black nail craving and am seeing it all over Pinterest and other blogs.

1 Blouse 2 Ways

1 Blouse 2 Ways by treerochelle featuring denim jeans

I’m probably not alone in becoming obsessed with an item of clothing and wanting to wear it every way possible. The best clothes are the versatile ones. For this fact alone I’m grateful color blocking and pattern mixing are still in style since it doubles our opportunity to wear our clothes. I love seeing one item styled for both casual and evening looks which is what I give to you today. The blouse is my favorite transitional piece. Whether transition to you means summer to fall, winter to spring, day to night, etc. the blouse has a place in each of them. For day, you can throw it over jeans with a tall boot, a cute bag, simple jewelry and done. chic. comfortable. For night, show off your stealth pattern mixing abilities with a printed blazer, but keep the rest of the outfit more subdued ( and by that I mean leather, stilettos and powder blue clutches). We could talk about blouses for days so I will leave you with the image of Jimmy Choo heels we all wish we owned.

Ladylike by treerochelle featuring a christian dior fragrance

Just a little feminine inspiration for today. I normally try and balance my looks, but sometimes a girl just needs a polka dot dress and some classic pumps.

Classic Style

Classic Style by treerochelle featuring a beige blouse

Simple, effortless, chic, so many words to describe this outfit. My uniform lately has been a blouse that I can just drape over jeans or black pants like these. I love the more casual nature of this look even though it can be appropriate for work. I have been obsessing over loafers lately and luckily there are so many styles out there. Heels get so much attention but I am a flats girl at heart. A simple outfit is screaming for a tribal inspired statement necklace to add some punch. This olive suede bag was a just a no brainer element to a fall look.

So be comfy and chic this fall, it can be our secret.
